Santa Dash

Accordingly, we enthusiastically embrace responsibility for our activities on the environment, employees, customers and the local community. In December 2011, despite it being carried out the day after the companies Christmas Party, a crack team from Yellowbus Solutions Ltd completed the Brainwave Santa Dash raising over £500.

Yellowbus Solutions Ltd have chosen Brainwave as their designated charity for 2012 so it was quite apt that the year started with a Christmas flurry.

The team comprising of Michael Ruck, Mark Bowater and Michael Douglass were hindered slightly due to Michael Douglass having a foot injury however this never stopped the team from pushing him around the entire course in a wheelchair.

"It was an amazing day and having to push Dougie around the whole thing made it a bit more of a challange, especially after the companies Christmas party, but we made it in good time and we're happy to see the finish line" says Michael Ruck, Director.

During one of our many charity discussions a crazy idea was thrown on to the table which was to complete the 3 Peaks Challange.....in September.

The 3 Peak Challange is an attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in "one go". The peaks involved are Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

"To climb the 3 peaks within 24 hours is a challange in itself which is why its normally done in the summer months when the days are long. Climbing it in September meant the team had to climb Ben Nevis in total darkness and finish Snowdon in the dark as well. I'm very proud of all the team which despite being hampered by extremely bad weather, completed the challange in 24 hours 45 minutes" says Mark Bowater, Director.

The team consisted of (left to right) Michael Douglass, Matt Lowe, Michael Ruck & Adam Ollier who raised over £1000 for the event.

The Association of International Cancer Research (AICR) – the AICR exists to save lives by funding the very best cancer research projects, wherever in the world they are.

In August 2011 a Yellowbus Team successfully completed the Transrockies Mountain Bike Race in Canada and raised approximately £2,500.00 for the AICR. They covered 400KMs and 12,000m of climbing over a seven day period.
2 Mikes on a Bike! (June 2012)

It’s that time of year again when certain members of the Yellowbus team go slightly crazy and carry out bizarre tasks all in the aid of charity.

Right now, Michael Ruck & Michael Douglass are training for a 210 mile bike ride from Bridgewater House in Warrington, to Bridgewater in Somerset.

As you can imagine this doesn’t sound like a big challenge and when we were approached by our chosen Charity of the year
Brainwave to enter the event we jumped at the opportunity however thought we could make it a bit more of a challenge. So after a quick think, the 2 Mikes decided to do the whole thing….on a Tandem.

The ride will start on the 22nd of June and will be completed over 3 days and both Mikes are confident that it’ll be completed without a hitch.

We appreciate that we continually ask for donations for our various charity events however as this is one of our major events of the year we’d really appreciate it if you could dig deep and pop something on our Just Giving page.
